Ha ha ha!  We must be joking…but we’re not!  Mayor of Slaughterville, OK and Grand Potentate of the Cleveland (no relation) County GOP, Bobby Cleveland, is running for House District 20.

A little history lesson:

On September 25, 2001, Oklahoma held a special election concerning State Question 695—the Right-to-Work (for less) act, which passed by a margin of 68,000 out of 825,000 votes cast.  Two of those votes were cast by none other than Bobby Cleveland…or at least he tried to cast two votes!  Cleveland voted by absentee ballot, but then showed up at the polls on the 25th to vote again.

Sources state that his wife, Barbara, implored him not to do this as he stood in line, waiting to cast his illegal ballot.  We’ve been told that, as she begged him not to do this despicable act, he was heard to say something to the effect of “Shut up, woman—I know what I’m doing!”

Unfortunately, there’s no legal paper trail that we’ve been able to find, most likely due to whatever legal wrangling he was able to pull, but this story is backed up by a Norman Transcript article—which we will publish as soon as we can locate it (unfortunately, the Transcript’s online archive doesn’t go back that far).

So what other proof do we have to substantiate this story?  Well, I’m glad you asked.  How about these two people who would know a thing or two about the whole deal:  How about Former Assistant District Attorney Mike McDanel who was assigned to the case, as well as Former Election Board Secretary Paula Roberts?  Give them a call and ask them what they know about it.

Cleveland has played fast n’ loose with county politics for a long time and I’ve heard from many Republicans in the county who have not exactly been pleased with his tactics over the years.  This is just another example of how this asshole works.  An asshole who helped our boy Stiles get elected.  Perfect.  But hey—That’s Just Bob!

Beware, HD20….beware…

The otha’ day, a little number dropped into my lap that was just too good not to print. In fact, it has prompted CAAS to start up a new category (“Other Wingnuts, etc”) that I hope you, gentle reader, will enjoy.

Is he stroking out? Trying to do the "arrogant-turn-toward-the-camera"? Quashing a burp from the Domino's Pizza he had before taping? Hell, don't ask me! Click and figure it out for yourself!

Anyway, back to this heah’ email. It was sent to Steve Byas (a supporter of Aaron Stiles) as a rebuttal to to his idiotic, misguided letter to the Transcript concerning the Sally Kern fiasco.

I’ll take a cue from the “Steve Byas Playbook” and toss in an obligatory mention that he is the guy who successfully sued Wallace Collins, since he can’t go three sentences without bringing it up. He won an $82,000 judgement, and wound up seeing about half of that. And hey, that’s all true, well and good.

But apparently not good enough. 15 years later, he’s still not over it. Weasel-face continues to boo-hoo that he never got an apology. Well, I’d say the money and the chipped shoulder he’s been afforded calls it even. View full article »

Closer look women’s issues

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

State Rep. Aaron Stiles’ recent verbal outburst in the OU union and his negative comments regarding the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at OU deserves a closer look at how Oklahoma treats its women and children.

In comparison to other states, Oklahoma stands first in the rate of incarcerated women, first in child abuse deaths, fourth in divorce rate and fifth in teenage mothers.

From the other end, Oklahoma is 47th in women without health insurance, 45th in women holding managerial and professional jobs, 42nd in the overall health of women and 41st in their employment and earnings.

These statistics are conducive to the thought that many children born in Oklahoma probably grow up asking the question, “Does ‘right to life’ stop after birth?”

The statistics also provide excellent justification for having a women’s study program at OU, a program that informs and inspires students to develop moral fortitude, courage and determination to work for the betterment of Oklahoma women and their children.

Back in my fraternity days, I was once acquainted with a pledge who told everyone his summer job was working as a lifeguard at White Water. One of his buddies eventually let it slip that he did work at White Water, but he worked in one of the concession stands. It was a little lie that had no bearing on anything, really.

Then, a few months later, after the guy had moved into the house, I was the treasurer and asked him once why he was late in paying his house dues (rent, for the anti-Greek readers). He told me that there had been a delay in receiving his scholarship check. The explanation was reasonable until he explained that it was a football scholarship.

Obviously, this was a blatant lie View full article »

…that ‘Our Boy’ was among the 74 votes in favor of HB1461—a measure which expanded the scope of the Oklahoma Anti-Bullying Act and passed the House 3/8/2011?  Fabulous!  Now stop leading by example of being the bully!

“Don’t forgive them,  for they know exactly what they do.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs

No matter what your political inclinations are, it’s hard to make a case for Aaron Stiles being anything but a Class A Prick. He likes it that way, too. Why else would he consistently act like a bastard all over town? His actions could and should get him disbarred.

In 2010, Stiles was the benefactor of a wave of anti-Democratic sentiment but still only squeaked by incumbent Wallace Collins by fewer than 500 votes.

To be fair, House District 45 is always a dogfight. When Collins defeated Stiles in ’08, by over 900 votes, it was practically a landslide. I don’t think anyone will ever be a sure thing in HD45.

This blog is intended to chronicle, lampoon, and generally irritate Aaron Stiles and his boot-lickers (of which there can’t possibly be more than a few). But most of all, it is to generate awareness and TELL THE TRUTH View full article »

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

I believe bullying on campus is a serious issue. On March 3, I attended a public lecture titled Why Women’s History Matters at the Oklahoma Memorial Union to celebrate women’s history month. I learned a great deal about women in history and the importance of teaching our youth about diverse historical perspectives.

After the lecture, I was chatting with fellow lecture attendees when a man approached our group View full article »

“I revere the Law, the System and the Profession, and I pledge that in my private and professional life, and in my dealings with members of the Bar, I will uphold the dignity and respect of each in my behavior toward others….I recognize that my conduct is not governed solely by the Code of Professional Responsibility, but also by standards of fundamental decency and courtesy….”
— from The Lawyer’s Creed

Some may argue that because these incidents never resulted in any convictions, they aren’t that big of a deal.  Hooey.  O.J. wasn’t convicted of double-homicide either; what’s your opinion about his “innocence”?

Not even Stiles is denying these incidents happened…now.  Have you ever been written up by the cops for behavior like this…three times?

When you examine the things he said in the reports, it’s disgusting.

“Allegedly said”, some counter.

Fine.  But remember that he instigated every situation—and lied about the first two ever happening.  His credibility is zilch.

A video of an incident between students, faculty and a state representative March 3 in the Oklahoma Memorial Union has been shared with The Daily.

The 12-second video, which was taken on a student’s cellphone, shows Rep. Aaron Stiles, R-Norman, walking back to the union’s Molly Shi Boren Ballroom after taking pictures of students and faculty View full article »
